Holloman Air Force Base is home to the 49th Wing, a cornerstone of national defense and the Air Force’s premier training wing for F-16 Viper pilots and MQ-9 Reaper pilots and sensor operators. With a proud history spanning World War II, Korea, Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, and NATO-led Operation Allied Force, the wing’s legacy of excellence continues today.

Holloman also houses the world's longest (50,788 feet, nearly 10 miles) and fastest (approaching 10,000 feet per second, or Mach 9) test track, showcasing cutting-edge technology and innovation.

In addition to its critical military mission, Holloman supports more than 11,000 Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, retirees, DoD civilians, and their families. The base provides vital resources such as Air Transportable Clinics and Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources, fostering readiness and resilience in both peacetime and contingency operations.

Located in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Holloman Air Force Base is a dynamic hub of activity and a vital community within the region.
