I am the Recruitment Chair for Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Incorporated, which is a culturally-based, Pan-Asian interest, but non Asian exclusive, sorority on campus founded on the pillars of Sisterhood, Service, and Cultural Diversity. Founded by seven women who aimed to create a space where women from diverse backgrounds could come together, our organization continues to empower young women to embrace leadership, academic excellence, cultural awareness, and community involvement, while remaining open to women of all nationalities and backgrounds.

The Rho Chapter at the University of Florida focuses on creating meaningful connections and fostering an inclusive community through recruitment events, philanthropy, cultural programming, social events, and service initiatives throughout the year. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where students can build lifelong friendships, celebrate diversity, and grow into confident leaders on campus and beyond.

Event Demographics:
Our recruitment events typically attract 50–100+ attendees throughout the semester. One of our most attended events is our Speed Dating Night, which serves as the first and largest recruitment event of the season where potential new members and sisters meet, connect, and form their first impressions in an engaging and welcoming environment.

Turnover:
Each recruitment season brings a large number of new attendees who are discovering our organization for the first time, while many returning participants continue attending our events due to the strong sense of community and sisterhood fostered within our chapter. We have other events such as picnic day, culture day, or service day. However, Speed Dating is the first and most important recruitment event of the semester.

Age:
Most participants are college students and young adults between the ages of 18–24.

Gender:
Our audience is primarily women, though many of our cultural and philanthropy events are open to all students on campus.

Location:
University of Florida — Gainesville, Florida
