Austin, TX, USA
My name is Caitlin Boyd, I am a mom of 3 living in Austin, Texas. The day I turned 30 my whole world changed. My oldest son Colin started his cancer journey, he was only 4. While Colin was battling cancer, I was pregnant with our third child. Colin was also on the spectrum which added another layer on to his battle. During my pregnancy I was diagnosed with placenta acrita and placenta previa. Because of this I had to have a C-section and hysterectomy at 35 weeks. A few weeks after my surgery I got the call saying the doctors found a tumor in one of my fallopian tubes. Because of this, I had to see my own oncologist. Luckily everything was ok. Only 5 short months after we had our daughter, we lost Colin.
After settling into our new normal, Emmett, our middle child, was diagnosed with autism. Because of this, we made the decision to move to Austin to give him access to better resources.
After getting the kids adjusted to our new home and schools, I decided I needed to find myself again. I decided to get a job at a local school.
Caraway Elementary has truly become a second home. They all have been so welcoming and warm to me. They have also been so supportive anytime I ask for help. For the anniversary of Colin’s passing, a bunch of the teachers had their classes make cards with words of encouragement to send to kids battling cancer.
I was picked to be the new lead of the social committee for Caraway and I couldn’t be more excited! I am so excited to help celebrate all those who have helped me feel like myself again.
With all of this being said, the committee has not been very active in the last few years. So I am taking over with basically nothing to use. That is why I am reaching out to you. I am hoping that you might be up to sharing your product with me to help me kick off the new school year coming up! I know school just got out, but I’d love to get stocked up over the summer so we can start off with a bang!
