Subject: Lifelong BMX rider, and I have an awesome sponsor/collab idea!
Hello Poppi,
My name is Corey Furmage.
My Instagram is: @coreyfurm | http://www.Instagram.com/coreyfurm
I was just wondering if Poppi would be interested in sponsoring me, for 29” BMX. I just think this could be an awesome collaboration that would be great for the both of us! I have loved soda for pretty much my whole life, but I would honestly love to start drinking a more healthier option, and Poppi looks like the perfect fit! Over the past few months, I’ve gotten sponsored by AME Grips and Kool Stop Brake Pads, and just recently, I got sponsored by Tannus Armour and Rips Licorice. I’ve just been hoping to get more sponsors at the start of this new year, and to just spread my love and passion of BMX (bikes, riding in general) and to show people just how rad and fun it is!
Here’s some backstory. I have ridden 20” BMX Freestyle my whole life. My Dad, William “Crazy Lacy” Furmage, was one of the first original Vans Team Riders in the early 80s and did shows/toured across many states. He got my Brother, Chris, and I, into riding bikes when we were very little, and we’ve been in love with BMX (bikes in general) ever since.
In May of 2023, we started going on ride-outs in our area, with the local Bike Life Family, called High Desert Cruisers. We seen how many people on these rides, and just on ride-outs in general, were on big BMX Bikes. They looked fun and awesome, and we wanted to get in on the fun as well, and see how we could apply our lifelong 20” riding style to these big bikes. So around September 2023, I contacted many brands about possibly getting flowed a 29” BMX Bike, in exchange for content and promoting the bike. Eastern Bikes reached out and ended up sending my family and I 4 different bikes, which was so rad. Since then, I’ve also worked with a couple different bike brands as well. It’s been awesome so far!
Most kids/people on these big BMX bikes in the ride-out scene are all about just cruising, or wheelies, which is definitely rad of course. But, not very many people doing I guess you could say “traditional freestyle” on these big 29” BMX Bikes, and it honestly seems like there’s still only a handful of us. I feel my bro and I have our own unique riding styles (from riding 20” Freestyle our whole lives), that people are really stoked on. Also, hopefully we’re showcasing to these wheelie kids what freestyle is all about, and just how fun it is.
In conclusion, it would just be amazing to ride for such an awesome company as Poppi, and to represent through my lifelong love and passion for riding BMX. 🙌🏻🙏🏻 I just feel this would be an overall great collaboration! And I would do my best to rep Poppi through my social media, riding videos, have Poppi tagged in my Instagram profile as a sponsor, and more! You guys could definitely re-share my riding videos to your stories as well.
I know you guys probably get emails constantly and messages from people wanting to get hooked up or sponsored, and I know I don’t have the biggest social media following, but with me only have been doing 29” BMX for a little over a year now, and still only a handful of people doing freestyle on these big BMX bikes, I just feel it’s going to get more and more noticed and popular, with just how fast growing the bike life, ride-out, wheelie scene is getting. And it would just be so awesome to ride for, rep, and be supported by Poppi along the way!
Let me know what you think and if you have any questions. 🙂
Thanks,
Corey Furmage
