Amy J. McConnell, APR, is a 36-year-old mompreneur in Mesa, Arizona, who transformed 15 years of ad agency and government communications experience into a digital media company fostering joyful, connected parenting across the East Valley.

She founded East Valley Moms after recognizing a gap in hyperlocal resources for new moms. With a background in journalism and public relations, McConnell spent the past five years building an online and in-person community to connect parents with each other and essential resources. Her government communications experience revealed that many free family programs go underutilized—East Valley Moms bridges this gap by increasing awareness.

East Valley Moms offers live moms-only and family-friendly events, alongside robust digital content. A team of a dozen local moms, led by McConnell, publishes long-form content three times a week, plus fresh reviews, roundups, and recommendations on social media six days a week.

Amy is a proud Cronkite alumna from ASU and was the outstanding undergraduate of her 2011 class; she also holds her accreditation in public relations and has served on the board of Phoenix’s Public Relations Society of America.
