For 19 years, Girl Guitar has redefined what it means to take music lessons. Through workshops, band classes, and private lessons, we’ve brought together women of all ages and backgrounds to learn, create, and connect. We’ve grown so much that we’re now in a new space, offering classes at all levels, with new and talented teachers.

Girl Guitar was founded by Mandy Rowden, a Gibson artist, award-winning songwriter, founder of the Texas Women’s Songwriter Festival, and Texas State University School of Music professor. Mandy has created platforms where female artists are celebrated, gain recognition, and feel safe expressing themselves through music.

Our mission is to uplift creatives and the Austin community through music and art. Girl Guitar empowers women through music, creativity, and connection. Together, we can amplify the impact of women supporting women right here in Austin.
