Greater Pittsburgh Ninety-Nines Chapter
Pittsburgh, PA, USA
The The Ninety-Nines Pittsburgh Chapter is a vibrant local community of licensed women pilots connected to the organization’s global legacy of advancing women in aviation. Based in the greater Pittsburgh area, our chapter brings together student pilots, flight instructors, corporate and airline pilots, and aviation professionals who share a passion for flying and supporting one another.
Mentorship is at the heart of our chapter. Experienced members guide student pilots through training, ratings, and career decisions, offering real-world insight and encouragement in an industry where representation matters. We actively promote and support aviation scholarships — both locally and through the international Ninety-Nines — helping reduce financial barriers and open cockpit doors for the next generation of women.
Connection is another cornerstone. Through monthly meetings, fly-outs, aviation outreach events, and social gatherings, we foster lasting friendships and professional networks that extend far beyond the airport. These relationships create a strong support system during career transitions, checkrides, new jobs, and major life milestones.
Health and wellness are increasingly important within our aviation community. Long duty days, travel, time away from home, and hours spent seated in the cockpit can take a toll physically and mentally. Our chapter encourages open conversations around well-being, promotes balanced lifestyles, and supports habits that help women thrive both in the air and on the ground.
The Pittsburgh Ninety-Nines chapter is more than a pilot group — it’s a mentorship network, scholarship advocate, wellness supporter, and lifelong community dedicated to helping women in aviation succeed at every altitude.
