HFLA is a vital resource for the central Texas Jewish community. Our loans have prevented fellow Austinites from being evicted, getting into a financial spiral and rescued families between jobs. Our loans are a hand up, not a handout. HFLA loans have also helped growing families through maternity loans, sent kids to summer camp, education, and other life cycle events. The model is a repayment model where all loans are repaid in 12-48 months which in theory would mean that once we have a loan pool, we never need to raise any more funds – this is the dream goal that we strive towards always.
