When I first started using TikTok, like many others, I was just posting silly videos for my close family and friends. But when COVID-19 hit and we were all in quarantine, there wasn’t much to do at first—so I turned to TikTok! I’ve always loved storytelling and sharing my most memorable experiences, and TikTok became the perfect platform for that.
I began posting “storytime” videos, using slideshows of photos and videos to help my audience visualize each story. When I noticed people were actually interested, I leaned into it even more—and that’s how my version of “Love Island” was born (inspired by the hit reality TV show, of course!). I put together photos of my friends and random Pinterest pictures of celebrities to represent the guys in our lives, using funny names to keep their identities hidden. My first video in the series blew up, reaching nearly a million views!
From there, I kept the series going and eventually transitioned into making “day in the life” videos, which people really enjoyed. But since I was still a student, I had to take a break from creating content to focus on schoolwork. Now, as I’ve started college and recently been accepted into my university’s nursing program, I’ve rediscovered my passion for sharing my life on TikTok. Through this, I’ve had the chance to work with amazing brands and hopefully your brand is next!
