My name is Kheri Murphy and I am a teacher and Parent Teacher Association member at N.B. Cook Elementary School. I am on the Teacher Appreciation Week Committee and in just a few short weeks we will begin this week-long event. Since Parent Teacher Association bylaws mandate that funds raised must be spent on student educational experiences, we lack funding necessary to celebrate our teachers; therefore, we rely mostly on donations from businesses in order to make this event a success for our teachers.
