At A Moment of Magic, we believe healing is more than medicine alone. Through the power of play, creativity, and human connection, we bring joy, dignity, and emotional support to children facing medical challenges and their families.

Founded in 2014, A Moment of Magic is a national nonprofit that partners with hospitals, treatment centers, and communities across the country to provide trauma-informed, play-based programming designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of medically vulnerable children. From character visits and creative experiences to evidence-informed emotional wellness programming through Express, Create, Heal, our work helps children rediscover moments of childhood during some of life’s most difficult experiences.

Powered by a network of passionate college student volunteers and community partners, we are reimagining what compassionate care can look like — blending play, psychosocial support, and meaningful connection to help children and families feel seen, supported, and empowered.

This is more than a moment. It’s a movement toward more human, hopeful, and heartfelt care.
