The mission of Meals On Wheels Atlanta (MOWA) is to support senior independence through meals, shelter, education and community.

MOWA was founded in 1965 to support seniors struggling with hunger and social isolation. Over nearly 70 years, we have grown from a small soup kitchen to an organization serving more than 500,000 meals each year to older adults throughout the Atlanta area. From the beginning, the heart of our mission has been to offer seniors the comfort of a warm meal and a visit from a caring volunteer. While we primarily provide home-delivered meals, we also offer a food pantry, family-style meals for senior centers, home repair services, and a pet food program for our clients who own a dog or a cat—all of which support the independence and quality of life of those we serve. In 2024, we served more than 500,000 meals to seniors in need.
