About

Hi, I'm Misty Stevens and I organize the Remembrance Run. Its an annual 50 mile journey in Nevada, from the Yerington Paiute Reservation to the Stewart Indian School, in honor of the children who ran, those who survived and those who did not make it home.

My son, Kutoven Stevens holds the vision for the run and leads us through the desert and mountain passes, and hosts the mid-way mountain camp of survivor story sharing and giveaway. Ku is a collegiate distance athlete, running for the Washington State Cougars. He represents Nike N7 and is featured in their Holiday Campaign 2025.

This year we are partnered with She Carries Her House Productions, the company behind the multi-award winning documentary film Remainig Native, a story following Ku and the Remembrance Run. We are hosting a screening of the film at the pre-run camp along with live screen printing of the Remaining Native shirts.

The theme for 2026 is Art in Motion and we are celebrating the beauty of indigenous artwork that not only survived the boarding school era but is thriving as part of the living Native culture. We are hosting an indigenous art exhibition and silent auction at the Stewart Indian School Museum, along with a performance from the Eagle Wings Dancers.

We have some amazing partnerships for the run, including Kuuk Water from Alaska, Patagonia, Nike Running and Nike N7, Arc'teryx, and GU Energy Labs. We would love to add a few more partners to enhance the journeyers experience!
