Hey, I'm Caroline. I make content about the quieter side of getting outside — solo hikes before the trail fills up, slow mornings, the kind of travel where you actually notice where you are. I'm based in Birmingham, Alabama, where I train for the bigger hikes. Right now, the bigger planned trail is the Camino de Santiago: 500 miles, solo, across Portugal and Spain.

My corner of the internet is Opt Outside (@opt_outside on TikTok), with an Instagram rebuild underway. My audience is mostly people who want adventure that feels doable instead of extreme — people thinking a little more intentionally about how they move, what they pack, and how they take care of themselves on and off the trail.

That intention shows up in what I actually feature: gear that earns its spot in the bag, activewear that performs on a long climb and still looks good in town, clean and low-tox swaps for skin and body, and the small daily rituals that make the big trips possible. I don't post anything I wouldn't reach for on my own trail mornings, and the stuff that holds up tends to come on every trip after.
