Hello, my name is Kaylen Hyatt, and I am the Lead Medical Assistant for a local Community Health Center in Fort Collins Colorado, Salud Family Health.

We are a nonprofit facility who primarily serves patients who are lower income, self-pay, or have Medicare or Medicaid. We serve a large population base of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds.

This October will be National Medical Assistants Week from October 19th - 23rd of this year.  While Nursing week is very publicized and promoted, MA week does not get talked about as much. Our MAS work incredibly hard rooming patients, taking vitals, drawing blood, and giving vaccines, as well as a variety of other duties.

Working in healthcare can be hard enough as it is, but for the last year our clinic has been down a third of our staff as well as the loss of government funding.  Our MA team has been working long hours, going above and beyond for their patients, helping their coworkers with the case load, all while trying to be an encouraging force for their coworkers in this tough and challenging time as well as taking care of their families.

I am so incredibly proud of them, and I want to show how truly thankful I am for them and all their hard work!

I know it's a long shot, but with this MA Appreciation Week approaching, I am reaching out to see if you would be willing to help me spoil them in any way! They truly work so so hard! We currently have 16 MA's on staff.

If this is a business venture that you think you or your company would be willing to be a part of, I would love to hear from you.
