Saya
My name is Saya Shanehbandi, and I am a sophomore Biochemistry major at UT Austin. I currently serve on the officer team for Global Medical Training (GMT), where I help coordinate events, manage partnerships, and support outreach for our 580+ members. I am passionate about healthcare, global service, and creating opportunities for students to get involved in meaningful medical volunteer work.
Through GMT, I’ve had experience assisting physicians abroad, supporting clinic operations, and helping raise funds for the pharmacy we operate on our service trips—our UT Austin chapter is the only GMT chapter in the nation that maintains this ongoing pharmacy. I love building connections with organizations that align with our mission, and I’m always looking for ways to bring valuable resources and experiences to our members.
