Shawna joined our team while planning the 2023 Runway for Hope in the spring.

Shawna noticed her “lump” in the summer of 2021 and thought it was just a “cyst." Breast cancer wasn’t on her radar; as she was a healthy 38 year old with a busy 3 year old son. Shawna almost didn’t get her “lump” checked due to no risk factors and the cost of diagnostic testing. She decided to get her “lump” checked after a family member shared her niece was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer.

Since being diagnosed with breast cancer, she has developed a passion to help other women know their risks and help them with the financial barriers/burden of early detection and treatment.

Shawna has participated as a model in the “Runway For Hope," spoken at the “Drive Fore a Cure," and participated 9 times in the “Tri For A Cure”! She has helped save or raise the cancer community over $100k and the number keeps growing!
