The St Andrews Welly Ball is Scotland’s largest student-run black-tie charity event, combining tradition, spectacle, and philanthropy in one unforgettable evening. Held annually since 2007, the Ball brings together around 2,500 guests from leading universities across the UK for a night of dining, music, and celebration, complete with its signature black-tie-and-wellies dress code. In support of the Charlie Waller Trust, the event has raised approximately £350,000 to date, including £45,000 in 2025 alone, funding vital mental health initiatives for young people. Now entering its 19th year, Welly Ball continues to grow in scale and impact, aiming not only to match but exceed its fundraising achievements while delivering one of the most iconic nights on the Scottish social calendar.
