Tatum Hays
My name is Tatum Hays, and I am a proud member of Kappa Delta Delta Zeta at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I am currently in nursing school and have a strong passion for both healthcare and my sororityโs philanthropic mission. Our chapter is deeply rooted in service and works year-round to support causes that make a lasting impact.
Kappa Deltaโs national philanthropies include Prevent Child Abuse America and the Girl Scouts of the USA. Locally, we support the Louisiana Baptist Childrenโs Home, where we are actively involved throughout the year. One of our favorite events is volunteering at their annual Fall Festival, where we host games, offer coloring activities, and connect with the kids in meaningful ways. Building relationships and providing joy in even the smallest moments is something we value deeply.
One of our biggest campus events is Shamrock Week, which raises awareness and funds for child abuse prevention. Throughout the week, we host a bake sale, a โThese Hands Donโt Hazeโ initiative where students place painted handprints on our letters, donation drives, and โPie a KD,โ where people donate to pie a member in the face. We also sell pinwheels across campus as a symbol of hope for Prevent Child Abuse America. The week ends with our Shamrock 5K and 1K, which brings together students, families, and local vendors in support of our mission.
Beyond Shamrock Week, we stay involved with the community through hygiene drives for womenโs shelters and Nurses Baskets filled with essentials like hygiene products, stationary, energy drinks, and snacks to show appreciation to local healthcare workers. We also host give-back nights at local restaurants where a percentage of proceeds benefit our philanthropies, and we regularly team up with other Greek organizations to support their charitable events and causes.
Our chapter has been recognized with several awards including CPC Chapter of the Year, the CPC Sorority Community Service Award, the CPC Academic Excellence Award, and the Tri-Council Academic Excellence Award. These honors reflect our dedication not only to service, but also to leadership, academic success, and meaningful campus involvement.
By partnering with our chapter, brands have the opportunity to reach a community of driven, service-minded college women who truly care about the products and values they support. Through event sponsorships, product placements, and social media features, we offer authentic engagement and brand visibility during high-impact events. A collaboration with Kappa Delta is not only a great marketing opportunity but also a way to give back and be part of something that makes a difference.
