TERRAIN creates playful physical and digital spaces to remind humans that we are embedded in a more-than-human world.

As the first of its kind in Australia, our new independent ecologically-oriented BOOKSHOP, GALLERY and STUDIO in Ngár-go/Fitzroy offers the community a set of blueprints for how we might design our way forward as one planetary ecosystem.

TERRAIN is equipped to facilitate and host a variety of intimate community-led meetings and events at our HQ. These include (but are not limited to); talks, book launches, performances, readings, book clubs, prototype activations, screenings, exhibitions, and workshops. Through these local gatherings, we hope to foster meaningful connections and a community with a shared passion for applied ecological thinking.
Offsite, our Bioassembly (short for Biodiversity Assembly) is TERRAIN’s educational-adventures outdoors platform, presented in partnership with performance outdoor clothing equipment company Arc’teryx. Each activity is led by a special guest or partner organisation. Expect planting days, hikes, snow, geology, binoculars, paddling, & so much more as we visit varied terrains and bioregions to appreciate and be actively engaged in their health.
