Tiger Shock
Tiger Shock is a newly founded student organization at Clemson University dedicated to raising funds to support the placement of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in Clemson-area schools.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of people experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, with a survival rate of only 10%. This rate decreases by 7–10% for every minute without defibrillation. The closer an AED is when cardiac arrest occurs, the faster a life-saving shock can be delivered — dramatically improving the chances of survival.
While South Carolina state law requires each school to have at least one AED (and additional units at sporting events, practices, and other activities), many campuses still lack sufficient coverage to ensure rapid response in an emergency. Tiger Shock is working to change that by raising funds to help schools expand their AED access — protecting students, staff, and visitors alike.
