Meet the Founder: Jonathan Sessa
PGA Professional | 100% Disabled U.S. Army Veteran
Jonathan Sessa’s journey is defined by a commitment to service—first to his country, and now to his fellow Veterans and First Responders. As a 100% disabled U.S. Army Veteran, Jonathan understands the complex challenges of transitioning from the structured world of military service to civilian life. He knows firsthand the battles of isolation and the search for a new mission once the uniform is set aside.
It was through the game of golf that Jonathan rediscovered his own sense of purpose and community. Combining his military background with his expertise as a PGA Member and Golf Coach, he founded Warrior Golf Academy to ensure no Hero has to walk that path alone.
"Golf is not the end goal. It is the vehicle."
Jonathan’s vision for WGA goes beyond the driving range. He has built a mission grounded in four core pillars—God, Golf, Community, and Military—to provide a high-performance environment where Veterans can "Turn Valor into Vocation." Whether he is coaching elite young talent, hosting the Hero’s Journey podcast, or mentoring a Veteran through a career transition, Jonathan’s focus remains the same: helping others reclaim their identity and lead with excellence.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, Jonathan continues to scale WGA’s impact, reaching over 97,000 touchpoints nationally and ensuring that every Veteran has a "home course" and a community that stands behind them.
Vision Statement:
"To build a national landscape where every Veteran and First Responder has access to a 'home course'—not just for the game of golf, but as a sanctuary for elite mentorship, disciplined growth, and the lifelong brotherhood required to lead a life of impact after the uniform."
