How Do I Disconnect or Change a Social Account?

Updated Sep 14, 2026

There is no in-place "change" button for a connected social account (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter/X, Pinterest, Twitch). To change which account is connected — for example, to switch to a different Instagram account or Facebook page — disconnect the current account first, then connect the new one. The steps below cover both a simple disconnect and a disconnect-and-replace, and apply to all platforms.

You must remove the connection in two places. The order matters — start with onbrand.

On onbrand:

  1. Log in and go to Account settings → Social media
  2. Find the platform (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
  3. Click the "Disconnect" button to the right of the connected account
  4. Refresh the page

If you don't see a Disconnect button:

  • The account may already be disconnected on onbrand's side. Check the social platform side instead.
  • Try logging out and back in, or hard-refreshing (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R).

On the social platform:

  • Facebook: facebook.com → Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → find "onbrand" → Remove.
  • Instagram: instagram.com → Settings → Apps and websites → find "onbrand" → Remove. (Instagram connects via Facebook in many cases — check Facebook's Apps list too.)
  • TikTok: in the TikTok app, tap Profile (bottom right) → Menu (☰) → Settings and privacy → Security & permissions (or Security) → Apps and services permissions → find "onbrand" → Remove access.
  • YouTube / Google: myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps → find "onbrand" → Remove access.

Once removed from both, refresh onbrand and reconnect the correct account. If the wrong account keeps being reconnected, do the reconnect step in a private/incognito browser window — see "My Social Media Won't Connect".
